Nanda Devi Trek
Day 01 : Delhi - Kathgodam - Bageshwar
Board Ranikhet Express from Delhi to reach Kathgodam early next morning. On arrival start driving towards Bageshwar. Enroute visit the beautiful town of Almora. Overnight at the hotel at Bageshwar.
Day 02 : Bageshwar - Munar - Mikila 13 km
After early breakfast drive to Munar the starting point of the trek. On arrival meet our team. This day we will trek for 13 km to reach Mikila. Enroute we will encounter settlements at supi village and other village of Kumaon Himalayas. On arrival we will set campsite for overnight stay. Overnight in tents.
Day 03 : Mikila - Rajkharak 13 km
The trek for the day stars with the ascent over Mikila taking to pass. From here we will descend down to the village of Gogina. Overnights in the tents.
Day 04 : Rajkharak - Namik village 10 km
The trail from Rajkharak winds along the lower reaches of the valley passing through small meadows reaching to the village of Kemu. The trail further descends to reach valley floor. Here river crossing is needed over River Ramganga on wooden logged bridge. From here a reasonable ascends takes you to the village of Namik Village. Go past through the beautiful village of Namik to a open field and probably best camping place. From here we can view the path for the next day's trek. Overnight in the tents.
Day 05: Namik Village - Thalthok 6 km
From Namik village the trail ascends over a ridge to reach the campsite at Thalthok. Thalthok is just a base to approach Sudamkhan pass with a abandoned panchayati house of the villagers of Namik. Overnight in tents.
Day 06 : Thalthok - Sudamkhan Pass - Bhuyadabli 14 km
The day is challenging with fruitful opportunities for photography. The trail ascends from Thalthok to reach Sudamkhan pass a vantage point to view stunning Himalayan peaks. From here we will ascend gradually further to cross Rali meadows finally descending to the beautiful breathtaking campsite at Bhuyadabli. There is a stream flowing through the meadow of Bhuyadabli in really artistic way having a series of curves meandering through the meadow. Overviewing is the pass Kagudibhel welcoming you for the next day's trek. Overnight in the tents.
Day 07: Bhuyadabli - Kagudi Bhel pass - Poting 16 km
This is the most challenging day of the trek. After early breakfast start trekking to reach the pass. This will take around 3 hours. From the pass there are breathtaking views of the Himalayas. From here we will descend series of lowlands beyond the pass to reach campsite at Poting. Overnight at the tents.
Day 08: Poting - Bugdiar 6 km
After a hectic prior day's trek this short day is well appreciated. The trek from Poting to Bugdiar takes about three hours. Overnight in the tents.
